What about TI2TC!
Hang on a minute.....there have been loads of e-mails flying around announcing plans for the summer............... "What about TI2TC!" we’ve been asked ........and we thought we better give you the info......
Think of TI2TC as your very own outdoor garden BBQ party with enough space to swing a meerkat....Located somewhere in middle England......At the end of August....Saturday 28th (or for those who can still get in and out of a tent Sunday too)...... It’s the great outdoors with time to talk to each other, have a dance, chill out, eat and then have another dance if you've not already! It's in a Beautiful setting, babbling brook (no not me – there is actually a brook).... sheep, cows, trees, sunshine.... a nice little camp fire (or two) for the night time... You can see the stars because you’re not in a city! and its only 1.20 mins from London and completely private!
We’ve got you in a Band, The TI2TB DJ’s including the very special vocal talents of Andre, a Special Guest ???(S)... and a Tune off for a bit of fun..... were WE want YOU to bring 1 tune each, and we’ll have a sound clash style tune off and you’re the judges (more info to come)...... our small but deadly Fireworks display, a massive Bouncy Castle and a BBQ for you to use at your leisure (although we’ll be putting on the Bacon Butties and a cup of Chai in the morning again:-). we've a big Marquee so you'll all fit in and if last year was anything to go by we'll be in for a an amazing weekend....
To all those who are coming and have sent us an e-mail, we’ll be in touch soon re posting out your tickets and to those who are undecided.......
Come on, you know you want too – we won’t be doing it again for a few years so this really is your last chance to live it up at the TI2TC and give it a go before you hit 40! (Your friendly local age concern rep).
Tickets are £30 for the early birds (until 1st of August) and £45 after - If you book 5 tickets you get one free
kids go free.... and camping for families is separate and away from the music!
if you think you want transport please let us know in advance so we can organise it
we are limited on total numbers on site so please let us know if your interested but not ready yet and we will put you on the reserves list and let you know when close to selling out before August
Enjoy the summer sunshine and we'll see those of you at Glastonbury in a few week!
Peace and Rice
Rich,
TI2TB

Next TI2TB history lesson
What can I say about this boat party CD except it has my favourite cover and design. A lot of fun to shoot but also some pain involved as well. Turning up at 8am on a Saturday morning at a disused butchers shop in Smithfields market was painful enough. To then hang upside down on a meat hook, whilst Stern and Uncle Biggie taunted and prodded us, was a classic case of suffering for your art. I'm not sure we ever did get payback for that.
Still it has to go down as the classic Take it 2 the Bridge image. So good in fact that a lot of people thought we had ripped it off from the film, until they looked a little closer. So here's the CD, all zipped up and ready to rock your earbuds.
TI2TB Volume 3 - The Long Good Friday Session
Stones Throw Europe Tour
Often living in Whistler can be a pretty one dimensional music experience. Most of the clubs play the same music and very few live bands come passing through. You have to make the 2 hour trip to Vancouver to catch any tours and often they only make it as far as Seattle.
So I watch with envy when I see Stones Throw are on a European tour starting on 6th March. A couple of the artists on the tour are part of the Los Angeles Boogie Funk revival scene, namely Dam-Funk and James Pants. These guys are resurrecting the old vinyl on mixtapes and in DJ sets, plus they are producing fresh new joints that rock out the synths pretty hard. So I thoroughly recommend getting down to see them play. If you are London based then you can catch them at Cargo on 7th March.

To give you an idea of what they are all about, here's a link to a few podcasts they have recorded and the music they are producing.

Wickedman
We have some news hot off the press. Next London boat party is going to be happening on 2 May this year. Close to May Day but don't worry, we'll have done all the Spring rites things like burning a giant effigy and sacrificing some new partygoers the day before. It'll just be the morris dancing you'll have to join in with.
In the meantime while you are twiddling your thumbs waiting, enjoy one of my favourite re-edits from 2008.

Marvellous
Most people checking into this blog would have no idea what TI2TB is all about. It all really boils down to boats, beats and boogie. We have been hosting parties around the world mainly on the various rivers and harbours of the world. London, New York, Sydney and Copenhagen being among the destinations of the last 10 years.
In New York in 2000, we were lucky enough to have Qool Marv join us as we sailed on past the Statue of Liberty. We had been prepped by our hostesses for the week, Kim and Justine, about how good this man was. Sure enough he turned in a blinding set even though the turntables were vibrating severely due to the fact they were sitting above the ships engine. Since then he has gone on to become the HBO DJ of choice and is a regular visitor to the UK shores. If you can get your mitts on a copy of any of his 'Beats Jazz & Soul' mixtapes then you will know what I am talking about. But otherwise try out his eclectic podcasts.
