Boogies Gonna Get Ya

Incoming Round 6 from Stern Funk

Rafael Cameron - Boogie's Gonna Get Ya

All of my Lovin'

Incoming Round 6 entry from Bezmondo

One last try at something different this week before I resort to my sweet lady vocals that have seen me stake my claims in pole position for the boogie off championship. After my mauling last round by the very man who came round to my house and encouraged me to enter my military protohouse entry, I have to admit to being a bit hurt, Sternfunk your cards have been marked!

Jimmy Williams, what can I say but truly a boogie classic, well known tune but still up there.

Molecular boogie

This week's selection is all about the cover. Featuring a vortex dancing with a molecule model, you can just feel the electricity flowing around the 12inches of cardboard. I wonder what is brewing in those test tubes, maybe the same stuff that they are singing about. The song is the lead off tune from the self titled album by Khemistry. All it needs is a warning sticker: this record could cause an adverse reaction in your body, jerking and shaking possible.

Is it p-funk? Is it boogie? It's a bit of both and it's the winner of round 5. Step forward Terry Burrus & Transe with Love Rockin. In my opinion it contains the best lyric of the competition so far, slap my face, baby, slap it, but then I would say that as it was my entry.

Back into time - Volume 1, Side 2

Back when I had long hair and was living in an upside down world, I received a little package in the post. Within that package was TI2TB Volume 1 on C90 cassette. On the tape deck it went and we danced around our kitchen in Melbourne whilst drinking Thai whiskey imagining we were back home, partying on the Thames. No doubt Bez, Hudge and Rich had a lot of fun making the tape, so enjoy this never before digitally released mix-up. Its a bit crackly around the edges but then again how many of your 1980's Top 40 tapes are still in good condition? Volumes 2 to 18 will follow pretty soon.
