Next TI2TB history lesson
What can I say about this boat party CD except it has my favourite cover and design. A lot of fun to shoot but also some pain involved as well. Turning up at 8am on a Saturday morning at a disused butchers shop in Smithfields market was painful enough. To then hang upside down on a meat hook, whilst Stern and Uncle Biggie taunted and prodded us, was a classic case of suffering for your art. I'm not sure we ever did get payback for that.
Still it has to go down as the classic Take it 2 the Bridge image. So good in fact that a lot of people thought we had ripped it off from the film, until they looked a little closer. So here's the CD, all zipped up and ready to rock your earbuds.

Stones Throw Europe Tour
Often living in Whistler can be a pretty one dimensional music experience. Most of the clubs play the same music and very few live bands come passing through. You have to make the 2 hour trip to Vancouver to catch any tours and often they only make it as far as Seattle.
So I watch with envy when I see Stones Throw are on a European tour starting on 6th March. A couple of the artists on the tour are part of the Los Angeles Boogie Funk revival scene, namely Dam-Funk and James Pants. These guys are resurrecting the old vinyl on mixtapes and in DJ sets, plus they are producing fresh new joints that rock out the synths pretty hard. So I thoroughly recommend getting down to see them play. If you are London based then you can catch them at Cargo on 7th March.

To give you an idea of what they are all about, here's a link to a few podcasts they have recorded and the music they are producing.

Wickedman
We have some news hot off the press. Next London boat party is going to be happening on 2 May this year. Close to May Day but don't worry, we'll have done all the Spring rites things like burning a giant effigy and sacrificing some new partygoers the day before. It'll just be the morris dancing you'll have to join in with.
In the meantime while you are twiddling your thumbs waiting, enjoy one of my favourite re-edits from 2008.

Marvellous
Most people checking into this blog would have no idea what TI2TB is all about. It all really boils down to boats, beats and boogie. We have been hosting parties around the world mainly on the various rivers and harbours of the world. London, New York, Sydney and Copenhagen being among the destinations of the last 10 years.
In New York in 2000, we were lucky enough to have Qool Marv join us as we sailed on past the Statue of Liberty. We had been prepped by our hostesses for the week, Kim and Justine, about how good this man was. Sure enough he turned in a blinding set even though the turntables were vibrating severely due to the fact they were sitting above the ships engine. Since then he has gone on to become the HBO DJ of choice and is a regular visitor to the UK shores. If you can get your mitts on a copy of any of his 'Beats Jazz & Soul' mixtapes then you will know what I am talking about. But otherwise try out his eclectic podcasts.

Doing cold turkey
So I imagine 13 days into the new year and you have already broken at least 2 of your new years resolutions. Or if not, you may be waiting until the end of January when all the gym work combined with not smoking and being tee-total will end in a spectacular binge down the pub. Or rather more likely, in your front room drinking the left over whiskey as another one of your resolutions is to save more cash.
Well in an effort to ease the transition into 2009 and give you some much needed moral support, we have uploaded the latest offering from the vaults of TI2TB. As this was the first ever CD handed out I'm sure there are a lot of scratched up, over played copies floating around. So download, crank up the volume and let TI2TB sooth you as the cold turkey kicks in.
