Next TI2TB history lesson
What can I say about this boat party CD except it has my favourite cover and design. A lot of fun to shoot but also some pain involved as well. Turning up at 8am on a Saturday morning at a disused butchers shop in Smithfields market was painful enough. To then hang upside down on a meat hook, whilst Stern and Uncle Biggie taunted and prodded us, was a classic case of suffering for your art. I'm not sure we ever did get payback for that.
Still it has to go down as the classic Take it 2 the Bridge image. So good in fact that a lot of people thought we had ripped it off from the film, until they looked a little closer. So here's the CD, all zipped up and ready to rock your earbuds.
TI2TB Volume 3 - The Long Good Friday Session
Stones Throw Europe Tour
Often living in Whistler can be a pretty one dimensional music experience. Most of the clubs play the same music and very few live bands come passing through. You have to make the 2 hour trip to Vancouver to catch any tours and often they only make it as far as Seattle.
So I watch with envy when I see Stones Throw are on a European tour starting on 6th March. A couple of the artists on the tour are part of the Los Angeles Boogie Funk revival scene, namely Dam-Funk and James Pants. These guys are resurrecting the old vinyl on mixtapes and in DJ sets, plus they are producing fresh new joints that rock out the synths pretty hard. So I thoroughly recommend getting down to see them play. If you are London based then you can catch them at Cargo on 7th March.

To give you an idea of what they are all about, here's a link to a few podcasts they have recorded and the music they are producing.
