My Boogie Off Tune - 1st
The Universal Robot Band were an American music group comprising Gregory Carmichael, Patrick Adams, Leroy Burgess and Woody Cunningham.
They were formed by Patrick Adams and Greg Carmichael in 1976, their debut single was "Dance And Shake Your Tambourine". They reformed the band in 1982 for 'Barely Breaking Even'.
Profile:
The Greg Carmichael-Patrick Adams-Leroy Burgess connection produced many magical recordings, including those by Carmichael's infrequently recorded Universal Robot Band. "Barely Breakin' Even" is a legendary boogie track and the inspiration behind the name of the great British reissue label.
Consisted of the members of Kleeer - Woody Cunningham (vocals/drums), Richard Lee (vocals/guitar), Paul Crutchfield (vocals/percussion) and Norman Durham (vocals/bass/keyboards) - when they accepted an offer to effectively become the studio group in 1976 whilst they transformed themselves from rock band Pipeline. They toured and recorded as the Universal Robot Band for two years before deciding to set out on their own again, as Kleeer.

Nice. Starting out with a classic from another boogie master, Mr Leroy Burgess. It's heating up.
lovely tune, in fact all time classic boogie tune, BUT also a tune that all of us possess and is hardly a rarity for such an auspicious competition as "boogie off"
sorry mate , nothing new being brought to the table, lack of originality, no crate digging or unearthing of an unheard gem.
gots to be tough, must try harder, i can only mark you a pathetic 3 out of 10.
sorry mate for the tough marking, you should have put glide in first, much stronger tune in the context of the competition.
Its tough with this. Such a baddass tune but I've just killed it over the years. Guess I have to concur with bez and award points for originality.
4 from me.
Claaassssic. But not original. So I am also marking down. Just enough points to beat Rich on account of those cowbells and the squelchy synths, used many times by Greg Carmicheal but never as good as this.
5 out of 10 from me.
